To celebrate 4th of July Kai, Jennifer, Kalen, and Rylie decided to come over and visit us and see the house. They left on the 3rd when Kai got off work. I don't think they expected the drive to take them as long as it did. Kai worked a half day at work, picked up Jen and the kids in Deer Park, and then headed to Billings. They didn't get to billings tell like 2am. They had only an hour time change so it didn't feel to bad to them. The trip took them a little longer then expected due to stopping to eat and potty breaks. But they finally made it!!
Saturday was the 4th of July and it was a hot one. It was 102 degrees and we started having major issues with our air conditioning. I think I would have died if we didn't have a basement. The basement kept the house really cool which was nice. The homeowners previous to us had paid for a years worth of insurance for us...which was nice so we only needed to pay the deductible for them to come out and find out what the problem was. We bought some kiddy pools for the kids to play in the backyard. the kids had fun playing all day in the water.
Late afternoon we BBQ burgers and hot dogs and then we headed to Laurel. We heard they had awesome vendors and that their Fireworks were the best on this side of the State. We found a great spot to watch fireworks by the elementary school. The show was definitely one of the best I have ever seen. There were a ton of fireworks. The kids had a great time and we all really enjoyed ourselves.
The next day we hung out and took the kids over to Scheels to play games and ride the Ferris Wheel. We all had a great time hanging out. We went to Cracker Barrel for dinner and drove the family around town a bit. The kids did some sparklers and poppers before going to bed.
Kai and Jen left on Tuesday morning and drove the kids back to Washington. Thorsten went with Kalen and Rylie to Kai and Bills in Pasco, WA for a couple days while Aunt Cheryl came to visit.
Saturday we met Kai and Bill in Missoula, MT. to pick up Thorsten.
