June 19, 2015 Fishing and Family Outing

Today was Nics Friday off. When we got up Nic said he really wanted to take a drive and do some fishing along the way.

We headed out towards Red Lodge and checked out a couple fishing spots.  A little before Lunch time we parked the car out at  West Fork of Rock Creek.  It was a pretty fun day,  I read my scriptures, Thorsten played around with one of Nics fishing poles and broke it, and Nic caught a good amount of fish....He even caught a twofer! After a couple hours we headed out and had lunch at what seemed like a really popular food truck for lunch. Then we drove through down town Red Lodge and stopped at the candy shop.

Twofer!!

On the way out we decided to head home towards Columbus.  Nic would check out some more fishing spots along the way. It was really pretty, there were a ton of really green rolling hills. Thorsten was extremely tired and passed out on the way home. Nic saw a stream and headed down a dirt road to see if he could get better access and the craziest thing happened. We were headed down the road and I was looking at my phone....Nic said that guy looks a lot like Spencer Jones, he turned around the car because we weren't getting anywhere.  The road wasn't leading to a better fishing access like he thought it would. As he turned around the car I looked and did a double take because I thought the girl walking through the yard looked like Missy.  AND IT WAS!! They were are friends we had just made Spencer and Missy Jones.  We were so excited! it was random and crazy. It was Spencer's Families cabin and property. It was so random! We stopped in and hung out for a little bit. The house was super rustic and old. There were tons and tons of paintings...Spencer's grandmother was a beautiful painter and the cabin was full of all these beautiful paintings she did. Some of my favorite paintings were the ones of the Native American Women. They were pretty awesome. The house had tons of rooms and closets that were made into rooms. It was pretty neat. While we were at there cabin....Thorsten slept in the car.  I checked on him every few minutes over the span of about two hours while we visited. Then we headed back home towards Absarokee, MT..   Nic still wanted to fish.....and Thorsten was starting to wake up. So we stopped at a couple more fishing access spots between FishTail and Red Lodge. Thorsten and I hung out while Nic fished we saw a couple of deer and Thorsten tried to play with Ants!! Nic didn't have as much luck at these fishing accesses, but he still enjoyed him self. Over all it was a good fun day!
