Mothers Day May 9th & 10, 2015

Mothers Day weekend 2015

we were fortunate to take a drive down to Salt Lake City Utah!

We left Friday morning and drove down to Salt Lake City. We were fortunate to stay at Nicholas's Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Charlie home. They went on vacation to San Diego for the weekend but left there home open to us. We were extremely thankful to have a place to stay. Korina was able to do some shopping and we ate dinner at the Cheese Cake Factory! YUM!

While we were in Salt Lake City we did several fun things. We had made some dear friends when we first moved to Billings, Montana, Spencer and Missy Jones.  They told us they were getting Sealed on this fabulous weekend and had invited us. We were extremely excited to be at the Oquirrh Mountain, Utah Temple with them on there special day.  Saturday morning Nicholas's cousin Mike had offered to babysit Thorsten for us while we went to the Sealing and we were extremely thankful for them. They have a little girl Zoe who is about the same age. We were extremely thankful that Thorsten would have someone to play with. After the Sealing we picked up Thorsten and went to In and Out for lunch. Then we went back to Aunt Cheryls home and we all took a nap. Then we headed over to see Nicholas's Grandfather John Koster.

Grandpa had decided that he was going to sell his car. He had offered it to us. our Buick was getting a lot older and starting to fall apart. So we were thankful to Grandpa for offering to give us his car. The 96 Pontiac needed about $1,000 worth of work with new tires. So we got to spend a great evening with grandpa and pick up the car. We ate dinner with him and he really enjoyed it because he was able to show us off to all his friends in the little community.  Thorsten was a little shy at first but then really opened up and had a good time with grandpa. The highlight of his time with grandpa was grandpa pushing him down the hall on his walker. He thought it was pretty awesome! We were thankful for the time we were able to spend with grandpa. He told us some awesome stories about his mom, growing up, and about his time he spent in the Navy. He was just tickled that we were taking his car.

On the way home we stopped and celebrated Mothers Day with our GREAT friends the Smiths and Raymonds! We had a fabulous meal and I was really excited to be able to spend time with my Montana Mom Laurie Raymond on mothers day!
